Mount Vernon's Reese punches ticket to golf state finals
Mount Vernon senior golfer Libby Reese had a great day on the greens last Friday in Terre Haute, Indiana for the IHSAA Golf Regionals played on the Hulman Links Golf Course. Reese qualified for state being one of the three players with the lowest score without a team.
In that category, Reese finished at the top of the standings with 82 shots on the eighteen-hole course. This course was a tough par 72 facility. The state finals will be played on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3 from Battle Ground Golf Club in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Other area athletes to qualify for the state finals were the teams of Castle and Evansville Reitz. Individually, Reese, Lydia Aldridge of Boonville, and Lauren Knepp of Barr-Reeve will play on the state finals match.
